FVPSA Lobby Week!

May 26-29, 2009

The Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA), the only funding source dedicated to local shelters and programs that provide direct services to domestic violence survivors and their families, expired last year. We are currently working with both the House and the Senate to reauthorize and fund FVPSA for year 2010 and beyond. We are making progress, but there is still much to be done and YOU CAN HELP!

On May 26-29, 2009, your Members of Congress will return home for a District Work Period. This is the perfect time for you to meet with your Members of Congress in their local offices, attend one of their public functions or invite them to visit your program.

If you would like to participate in "FVPSA Lobby Week," please complete the Registration Form and return it to the Public Policy Office by close of business on May 20, 2009. Training and materials will be provided. More information will be forthcoming.

The FY2010 Appropriations Briefing Book will be available soon.
