Young Advocates for Peace 2010

Concurrent to NCADV’s conference July 30th through August 4th, 2010

To register your child, please contact Bethany Cagle at bcagle.ncadv@yahoo.com.

The Young Advocates for Peace Program was created by NCADV as a forum for emerging advocates ranging from baby advocates to teen/college advocates to explore their current role in the movement to end domestic violence.  The YAP Program exists concurrently with NCADV’s general conference to create continuity between all the generations of domestic violence survivors and advocates while focusing on the specific role our young people play in the future of the movement.

For YAP’s Baby and Toddler Advocates, you can expect a calm and nurturing environment consisting of non-violent play, supervised outings, adherence to eating and sleeping schedules, and the most fun they will have all summer.  Our Elementary Advocates can expect all of the same, but YAP will also focus on verbalizing and visualizing their idea of a non-violent world through art and play.  Our High School and College Advocates can expect to make friends that will last a lifetime while diving deeper into the heart of the domestic violence movement through roundtable discussions, workshop creation, legislative action, and of course FUN.

The Young Advocates for Peace Program strives to educate while also creating an opportunity for young people to connect with one another and create meaningful and responsible friendships.  We value the happiness and safety of today’s young people and want for them to feel inspired and empowered to make a statement in their schools and communities.  Please join us for this exciting ride and empower YOUR young advocate to move, live, and speak peacefully.

Note: you must register your child prior to arriving at the conference! Please contact Bethany Cagle for more information: bcagle.ncadv@yahoo.com.
